Outside counsel defending a corporation face major challenges in dealing with plaintiff’s counsel and the court system. That challenge is complicated and made significantly more challenging when other interests compete with those simply related to the defense of the case. In addition to dealing with problem witnesses, bad documents, and alleged punitive conduct, outside counsel must be aware of potentially competing business, financial, and public relations issues. This panel of experienced national trial counsel will discuss these issues and their experiences in managing major litigation.
