Michelle I. Schaffer Elected President of Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association

Michelle I. Schaffer, Member of Campbell Campbell Edwards & Conroy, P.C. was elected President of Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association (MassDLA) at the organization’s meeting in June. The MassDLA is a voluntary association of trial lawyers. The purpose of the MassDLA is to improve the administration of justice, legal education, and professional standards and to promote collegiality and civility among all members of the bar.

Michelle handles complex civil litigation cases with a focus on the defense of product liability litigation, high exposure premises liability and toxic tort matters. She tries cases for automotive and other manufacturers in the state and federal courts in New England and has handled national work on a variety of defect theories.

Michelle enjoys leadership positions in several professional organizations, currently serving as President for the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and as Vice President for the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She is a Past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Michelle has been actively involved in the Defense Research Institute and served as Chair of the Lawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee.
