Michelle I. Schaffer, a Member of the firm, has been elected President of the American Board of Trial Advocates’ (ABOTA) Massachusetts Chapter. Michelle is the first female to hold this office. In addition to serving as President of ABOTA’s Massachusetts Chapter, Michelle also serves as President of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyer Association

Michelle represents clients in high stakes civil litigation matters. Her diverse practice includes defending multinational corporations in complex products liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical and premises liability cases throughout the United States. In 2015, Michelle was voted a Top Woman in Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Michelle is the third Member of the firm to serve as their President. James M. Campbell, Member and President of Campbell Campbell Edwards & Conroy, was President of the Massachusetts Chapter of ABOTA from 2002-2004 and a Member of ABOTA National Board of Directors from 2002 – 2011. David M. Rogers, also a Member of the firm, served as President of the Massachusetts Chapter of ABOTA in 2014. Dave is a current National Board Representative for the Massachusetts Chapter of ABOTA.

Formed in 1958, the Massachusetts Chapter of ABOTA is dedicated to the preservation of the Seventh Amendment right to civil trial by jury, promotion of Professionalism and Civility among the trial bar, and supports an independent judiciary and the rule of law. ABOTA is dedicated to “Justice by the People.”
