BIOGRAPHY

Kiernan focuses his practice on the defense of clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including complex product liability, premises and automotive liability, and construction litigation.  He also represents clients in tort cases involving claims against employers and institutions for allegedly improper conduct by employees against third parties.  Kiernan has extensive experience representing clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation counseling and investigation, motion practice, fact and expert discovery, oral argument, pretrial, trial, appeal, and mediation.  He has also handled the defense of arbitration and administrative law matters throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

As part of his product liability practice, Kiernan has defended clients who manufacture and distribute a wide variety of products, including automobiles, textiles, heavy equipment, elevators, escalators, medical devices, and pharmaceutical drugs.  He also has experience representing contractors and manufacturers in cases arising from contract disputes, as well as breach of warranty and property damage claims.

Kiernan has been named to the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list for Mass Tort Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, and Product Liability Litigation since 2021, and is a 2023 graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy at Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California.  Prior to joining Campbell Conroy & O’Neil, he gained extensive experience in the federal court system as a law clerk to the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Kiernan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Widener University Delaware School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and interned in the Delaware County District Attorney’s office. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Ursinus College.
